Speaking to My 10 Year Old Self

My ten year old self was one of seclusion. I road my bike up and down the road -alone. It was the year my dad died. Christmas time was a few months away and deep hurt was in my home. No one talked about what just happened. Each person lived life and I was no exception. Authority became a fearful word. I stayed off people's lawn in fear of that authority.
Here is what I would say to my 10 year old self: "Take risks, Randy. Push beyond yourself and get out of yourself. Go into the pain and you'll find a beautiful place. A place that comfort will be found. You are not alone and you have a lot to contribute to those around you. They really do like you, but not a silent you."
